Accounting & Finance
The Fund Accountant will work alongside the Fund Controller and help manage the various responsibilities and deliverables of a group of structured tax equity funds. These funds are stand-alone special purpose entities incorporated with investment funds and financing partners used as financing vehicles for the company.
Responsibilities
• Preparation of monthly and quarterly asset performance reports.
• Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the funds.
• Coordination with internal departments on development of fund tranche including aggregation and presentation of supporting documentation.
• Administer fund database.
• Coordinate billing and collections for lease customers via 3rd party vendor (Lease Dimensions).
• Monitoring and periodic compliance reporting to fund partners and SolarCity management.
• Tracking and initiating lease payments between the funds and investors.
• Assist with management of investor capital calls and cash distribution activities.
• Work with independent fund auditors on preparation and delivery of audited financial statements.
• Work with independent tax accountants on filing of various tax returns.
• Responding to investor inquiries and prospective investor requests as needed.
• Special projects as required.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business degree with appropriate experience. CPA preferred.
• Ability to evaluate priority and multi-task accordingly.
• Must be highly detailed-oriented and organized.
• Strong communication skills.
• Strong Excel skills (pivot tables and filtering).
• Must be proficient with Great Plains (or other ERP systems), MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
The ideal candidate will have at least five years experience in a fast paced accounting environment. Fund accounting experience is not required. Ability to manage multiple deliverables and flexibility in handling changing priorities is key.
