The Project Performance Analyst will be responsible for collecting and analyzing detailed capital project data throughout the project lifecycle to assist the project teams and the Company in planning, designing, and executing projects that are cost effective and meet business objectives. This position will entail facilitation of both internal experts as well as third part consultants and sources of industry data.
This position will initially be located in the Fairfax, VA office, but will relocate to Houston, TX in approximately 2014.
Primary Job Functions . Interface with capital project teams to collect and analyze project cost and design data . Prepare data for submission to third party benchmarking consultants; work with consultants to normalize and analyze data . Assist in interpreting and communicating benchmarking results to company stakeholders . Maintain internal project information databases and libraries to assist in future benchmarking, methods development, and other special studies
Job Requirements . B.S. in Engineering, physical science, mathematics, or other technical discipline . Working knowledge of refinery and chemical industry process plant characteristics . Ability to travel to various project locations around the world to collect project data . Demonstrated ability to facilitate technical discussions and use influence to align various stakeholders . Proficiency in data analysis, including small-sample statistics and knowledge of statistical analysis software (MATLAB, STATA, or similar)
Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities . Knowledge of capital project work processes, contract types, and work breakdown structures . Facilitation, influence, and presentation skills . Demonstrated work experience in project cost analysis and / or project controls
