Provide a leadership role in development of new OTS projects, especially in the area of systems integration of the dynamic models . Initially located in Fairfax, Virginia; position moves to Houston with office relocation in late 2014/early 2015..
Primary Job Functions: . Provide consulting and implementation assistance in all aspects of Dynamic Simulation development. . Develop Dynamic Simulations for refineries, chemical plants, and ExxonMobil Research & Engineering projects. . Train customers on the use of developed simulators. . Provide mentoring to early-career group members on dynamic simulations, especially in the DCS integration area. . Interface with vendors (e.g. Honeywell, Invensys) for version testing, upgrades, and issues. . Assist and eventually lead the migration of existing models/systems into new simulation platforms and technologies, working closely with in-house Control Systems experts.
Primary Job Requirements: . Ability to deliver high quality operator training simulators within schedule and on budget . Ability to lead and motivate teams as well as possess strong technical skills to provide guidance to less experienced team members . Effective interface and people skills to help incorporate input from various technical specialties into development deliverables. This may include interfacing with multiple process technologies, cost and schedule, operations, applications engineering, control systems, and various other equipment disciplines, etc.
Qualifications/Experience: . B. S. (or higher) degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent, required . Minimum 10 years relevant industry experience . Demonstrated experience in the petroleum refining or chemical process industries . Experience in Invensys DYNSIM dynamic simulation software strongly preferred; experience in other dynamic simulation software may be considered. . Experience in UniSim Operations Suite strongly desired . Experience in Honeywell TDC3000 and Experion control systems strongly preferred; experience in Yokogawa, Emerson, and Invensys control systems also desired. . Programming experience . Microsoft Windows server and network knowledge
