Chemicals Senior Technical Engineer
Technical resource for chemical plant responsible for developing solutions to address process and safety concerns, developing and leading various improvement projects, and creating a long term vision for the units

Primary Functions:

.Serve as Safe Team member and Risk Assessment leader
.Lead development of closure plans for identified risks
.Lead, quality, safety, and reliability incident investigations
.Develop Low Risk / Small scope Projects
.Business contact for major project development
.Lead unit technical meetings
.Utilize design tools to applying them in complex troubleshooting situations
.Mentor early career engineers on good design practices
.Provide long term vision and strategy to drive improvement within EMC operations
.Provide technical assistance for customer concerns
.Primary interface for communications with technology
.Work with Vendors on quality issues


Job Requirements

.B.S. Chemical Engineer
.M.S. desirable, but not required


Preferred candidates will have:

.Significant Chemical Engineering plant technical experience (7+ years preferred)
.Chemical plant design or project experience
.Working knowledge of design and trouble shooting of distillation applications common to olefins plants
.Working knowledge of industry tools for process simulation
.Proficiency in using modeling tools (PRO-II, EDL, AspenPlus, or gPROMS)
.Some risk assessment or HAZOP training or experience
.Ability to think strategically and develop creative solutions to resolve operational problems
.Demonstrated sound business judgment and ability to view and incorporate the "big picture" into strategy development
.Ability to provide informal leadership and mentoring
.Demonstrated ability to influence and promote change to achieve desired results
.Strong written and verbal communications skills
