Department Description



Brief Description

Provides routine geological/geophysical and administrative support to land, division and/or engineering personnel. Creates, loads, enters, verifies, manipulates, analyzes and reports data related to cross-sections, maps and exploration activity. Provides user support for software systems to other technical support and professional personnel.

Detailed Description


*
Files, retrieves, creates and maintains geological/geophysical data including 2D & 3D seismic trace data
*
Loads and updates well data and well locations in existing databases using appropriatesoftware
Provides routine support duties in all exploration functions including creation ofcross-sections, digitized maps, synthetic seismograms, geophysical models, PowerPointslides, montages, charts and reports as required
*
Generates and compiles information required for government regulatory compliance
*
Maintains company geophysical/geological databases, file systems and records archives
Helps maintain monthly subscriptions, maintenance agreements, license agreements,scout information and data releases as required
*
Prepares support documentation for portfolio presentations
* Provides routine maintenance and re-supply of appropriate equipment as required

Job Requirements


*
High school diploma or equivalent required, college degree preferred
*
Five or more years of oil & gas experience required
*
Five or more years work experience required
*
Or College degree with three years oil & gas experience
*
Excellent analytical & mathematical skills
*
Good communication skills
*
Excellent knowledge of standard geological/geophysical displays and well logs
*
Working knowledge of Word, Excel, Lotus Notes and Power Point
* Excellent knowledge of specific software systems, terminology and procedures

Normal office environment (primarily)

90% of time spent working on PC
