Position Summary:Responsible for supervising the construction, operation and maintenance of transmission lines and associated equipment. Responsible for the field activities to ensure compliance with NERC Reliability Standards. Also responsible to direct efforts during outages to return facilities to service. Major enabling competencies: flexibility, communication, creativity and teamwork.
Principal Accountabilities: 1. Supervises and coordinates assignment of overall line crew work and allocates personnel and equipment to obtain best efficiency in performance. 2. Provides input to the Technical Services support group for the development of an annual maintenance plan. 3. Leads and supervises the inspection of line facilities and inputting data into a database. 4. Supervises and directs the performance of maintenance on transmission lines. 5. Recommends for purchase/lease equipment required to perform maintenance. 6. Interacts with other groups in transmission, distribution, plants, customers and the public regarding the operation and maintenance of transmission lines. 7. Advise, assist and consult with the Manager Trans Reg Ops Support on matters related to transmission line facilities. 8. Promotes and enforces safety rules and practices. Recommends and provides training for assigned employees. 9. Conducts meetings with employees and supervisors to provide information, entertains questions and provides feedback regarding employee concerns. Job Function: Operations Management
