Research Engineer
ExxonMobil Upstream Research Company is seeking a Research Engineer in the field of oil sands mining and processing for their Houston, Texas facility to evaluate and develop technologies in the field of heavy oil transport and heavy oil/bitumen processing, including upgrading, meeting product specification and alternate fuels. Design and execute experimental research programs to optimize the separation technology for oil sands tailings management. Serve as an ExxonMobil representative on joint-industry technology development programs within the group's focus research area. Provide technical service to existing operating facilities and capital projects. Position requires a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering or completion of all degree requirements for a Ph.D. and one year of research experience in hydrocarbon separation and upgrading. Must possess laboratory/experimental experience with designing, developing and evaluating hydrocarbon processing systems. In addition, the candidate must have experience with mass transfer, thermodynamics, polymer chemistry, polymer processing and hydrocarbon extraction processes.
