Seeking middle and senior level Hazardous Materials Specialist to work on client site in Atlantic City New Jersey.
Successful candidates must have an active Secret Security Clearance.
Requirements:
Performs quarterly inventory of entire facility and monthly inventory in some locations for hazardous chemicals and updates records. Assign all containers with a barcode and maintain the inventory and tracking system. Annual review of MSDS and chemicals. Inspect and maintain the authorized satellite accumulation areas. Coordinate hazardous waste disposal with through FAA and maintain accurate records of all hazardous wastes transferred for deposal. Perform health and safety monitoring when required such as temperature and humidity, noise dissymmetry, radiation and radio frequency emission-maintains records and files reports to the Safety Officer. Assist in crane operations as a safety observer and authorized operator (crane operator training provided by TSL). Inspect and certify fume hoods. Install and inspect safety equipment; such as un-plumbed eyewashes, fire extinguishers, PPE holders, emergency information placards, first aid kits, etc. Assist in shipping and receiving of hazardous materials. Research, prepare and submit purchase card requests for the Safety Office. Assist in large group training and “on-the-job” training. Research, design solution and obtain and assist in installation of materials to reduce ambient noise levels in loud areas. Participate in the transfer of hazardous materials from large containers to smaller containers (HP transfer) as required. Pre-screen all chemical purchases and receive and screen all incoming chemicals for hazardous traits and characteristics, deliver to ordering individual and update chemical inventory
Preferred Skills
- Minimum five years experience as a Hazardous Material Specialist. - Five years experience related to management of Hazmat communications programs. - Experience performing inspections of a broad range of diverse facilities and operations. - Experience identifying outdated MSDS's, and acquiring current MSDS's and posting them as required. - Shall be current in OSHA and TSL safety regulations.
