Primary Duties . This position has primary responsibility for management, production and implementation of external communications targeted for customers, shareholders and the community of Laclede Gas Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: . Cultivate, plan and implement annual, strategic external communications programs targeted for overall and segmented markets . Develop and maintain communications through proactive and reactive media relations; serve as Company spokesperson as needed . Manage the Media Information Line in support of 24/7 dispatch and media access . Maintain and implement crisis communications plans; coordinate expeditious emergency communications as directed . Create and implement social media policies and procedures to guide all aspects of messaging . Develop and maintain coordinated, timely and constant social media content for mediums including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube; add outlets as new technology emerges . Promote business news, charity support, events, community education initiatives and other news . Lead advertising efforts including PSC initiatives; maintain current knowledge of all PSC regulations . Negotiate and implement advertising partnerships with sports teams, celebrities, community events as appropriate . Compile daily market news summary for distribution by Internal Communications . Coordinate with the Manager, Community and Employee Engagement to ensure one voice for community and charity engagement . Provide external communications support for various departments, such as: drafting and/or reviewing letters, articles, fact sheets, speeches, talking points, event promotions, and more to help internal clients meet their objectives for external communications . Serve as a champion for the Company's brand standards and strategic initiatives . Serve in a client/agency model for internal stakeholders, providing excellent customer service . Conduct all communications initiatives in a time-sensitive and efficient manner . Develop and foster positive relationships internally and externally . Regular attendance is considered an essential job function
Additional Duties and Responsibilities include the following: . Perform any number of routine functions related to the Company's annual report, annual meeting, earnings releases, executive biography photos, speeches, and more as needed . Education and/or Experience . Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, business or related field . At least five years of experience in a variety of communications areas, such as media relations, advertising, employee communications, etc. . Extensive experience in project management .
