Description
The successful candidate will provide technical platform support for the Register of Scotland Partnership project. This encompasses managing server and application incidents and IT changes, along with providing support for various service improvement an infrastructure upgrade projects.
To continually improve BT’s performance in terms of SLA achievement, right first time, customer satisfaction & cost reduction by successful delivery within assignments and embracing the BTO strategy.
The role is measured against the contractual SLAs and delivery deadlines
Key Responsibilities: - Resolve incidents and complete changes within agreed SLAs as detailed within the SPA (Strategic Partnership Agreement). - Ensure the high availability of the Platform infrastructure -Support the delivery of projects into service - Design and implement technical projects within the service arena.
Technologies covered by the role include MS server administration, management of backups using NETAPP, ESX and EMC, performance monitoring using SOLARWINDS and VMWARE. There will also be a requirement to plan and carry out migrations and upgrades out of hours as dictated by the customer, compliance requirements and stabilisation projects.
Studying for or achieved MCSE
Skills & Experience required Essential:- - relevant experience of Windows Server 2003, Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange and IIS Server - SAN storage environments, NetApp, EMC Celerra and Networker. - Experience of Solaris, EMC Celerra and Networker, ADIC, ISA, SQL Server - Experience of OSSV Backups; ESXi; vMware - Platform and Application monitoring tools, MOM, SCOM, Solarwinds.
Desirable - Understanding of IP networks, Routing, Firewalls, DHCP, and DNS - Quest Active roles server. - ePolicy, McAfee, Mimesweeper, Group Policy, Urchin, Mobile Express, Sanctuary, Safeboot - SAN backup technologies, NetBackup, ADIC - Blackberry Enterprise Server. - Microsoft Office/Business application skills from user to administrative view - Desktop & server patch management, including testing, planning & deployment - Experience of HP Servers (hardware support) - Knowledge of the customers legacy bespoke systems - relevant experience of Windows XP - Excellent communication skills as the role is based on a customer site and requires daily involvement with the client
