Summary Under the general direction of the Corporate Director of Safety, works with operations management to develop and implement employee safety and health programs that minimize risks and seek to promote safety practices in alignment with federal and state laws, as well as the company's industry. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: * Promotes, administers and delivers safety and health related training toalldepartments' in compliance with local, state, federal, OSHA, DOT, and EPA rules and regulations. This includes developing curriculum, scheduling sessions and evaluating student performance. * Manages regional Safety Committees and Incident Review Teams in order to research all aspects of safety for BHN employees for both inside and outside working conditions and miscellaneous safety concerns. In partnership with Facilities and Operations Leadership, takes proactive measures to implement necessary changes to ensure a safe workplace. (Safety equipment, bomb threats, fire, work place violence, ergonomics, personal awareness, etc.). * Supports the periodic observation of field employees for the purpose of detecting possible safety violations and/or compliance (safety audits, ladder inspections, vehicle inspections etc.) In partnership with Facilities and Operations Leadership, also supports the periodic inspections of any BHN facilities to detect potential hazards. (i.e. GAP audits, loss prevention, ergonomics, etc.) * Maintains accurate, up to date safety training manuals and documentation on the Safety Share Point, including contributions to Safety Communications, Safety Alerts and Safety Newsletters. * Maintains class records in the Learning Management System related to safety, monitors progress of trainees and keeps the HR and leadership teams informed of trainees' attendance, progress and any re-certification deadlines. * Contributes to regional Incident Review Teams and has full familiarity in training of all safety procedures to support employees and leadership teams in the event of a reported incident. * Submits monthly safety reports, injury and vehicle Reports, IRT reports, safety committee minutes, monthly safety forms, MOR reports, OSHA reports and security reports. * Other duties as assigned. - Strong interpersonal, written and communication skills. - Ability to address and solve problems/concerns as they apply to the position's responsibilities. - Must be able to perform physical inspections of warehouses, head ends, roadside work sites, call centers and vehicles that involves walking throughout the work areas and climbing steps. - Must be able to coach, teach and counsel and be comfortable speaking to groups. Must be able to work independently without day-to-day supervision. - Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel; knowledge of federal, state and local safety regulations, protocols and/or procedures - Ability to investigate and analyze information and to draw conclusions; ability to gather data, compile information and prepare reports. While performing the duties of this job the employee is: Regularly required to talk and hear; Frequently required to sit, stand and bend at the knee and waist and walk; Required to use hand to type, handle objects and paperwork; Required to reach and hold on to items at chest level or reach above the shoulder; Required to use close vision and be able to focus. The employee generally works in both indoor and outdoor environments and must drive a vehicle; overtime maybe required. Required Experience
Bachelor's Degree in related area, or equivalent experience. A minimum of two (2) to three (3) years experience in safety, teaching, training or related function. A minimum of one year of experience developing and conducting classroom training. Applicable safety certification preferred (i.e. CSP or COSS) Job Location DeLand, FL, US.
