The MacKay River operation is a commercial bitumen production facility utilizing steam assisted gravity drainage (SAGD)to develop our oil sands resource.

Position Outline:
Reporting to the Chief Steam Engineer, you will be responsible to fulfill all duties under the Boilers Act and Regulations as a Shift Supervisor at the MacKay River SAGD Central Processing Facilities. This challenging position is an integral part of the MacKay River SAGD Operations Team and will support the objectives of the MacKay River business unit. Drawing on your extensive prior operating experience you will expand your SAGD capabilities while leading a shift of Steam Engineers.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
.Provides direct leadership to the shift teams in the safe and efficient operation of the plant.
.Maintains processing reliability and product quality while optimizing production volumes.
.Provides leadership to the shift teams on items such as; safety, training, environmental, company policies and procedures, as well as scheduling.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS
.Require a minimum Second Class (2nd) Interprovincial Stationary Engineering License (consideration may be given to individuals who have completed over half of their Second Class Steam and have the ability to maintain a temporary A type Second Class Ticket).
.7 to 10 Years plant operating experience in steam generation/water treatment units, heavy oil processing, sour gas processing, pulp and paper, power generation or in refinery operations.
.Must be a strong team player, capable of working closely with Maintenance, Field Operations and Engineering groups.
.Must possess strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
.Computer literacy is required (excel, word, SAP etc).
.Must be a self starter, demonstrate the ability to make timely sound day to day decisions with process upsets and be able to work effectively within the operating shift.
.Must be able to assess relevant automation system data, diagnose opportunities or problems, prioritize and respond appropriately.
.Must have demonstrated significant completion/progress in the Operator Training Program.
.Demonstrated leadership capability in an operations environment.
