The Senior Utility Technician is responsible for disconnecting and connecting of water services in assigned area as well as performing repairs on water service lines. The position may also perform general maintenance. Responsibilities:
Disconnect or reconnect water services to customers per work orders.
Perform minor repairs to water service lines.
Operates a company vehicle.
Performs maintenance on the property as required via the use of a maintenance request for or verbal request.
Keeps a log of all maintenance activities, date of work completed, and as much detail as possible as to what work was performed.
Make scheduled inspections of the grounds.
Carries equipment from manhole to manhole.
Shovels dirt/gravel.
Lifts manhole covers on and off.
Maintains inventory of coffee and supplies.
Cleans office which may include: vacuuming, sweeping trash pickup, kitchen, and restroom cleaning.
Assists with identifying safety improvements related to the facilities, equipment, or procedures.
Understands and adheres to all company health and safety procedures as they relate to essential job functions.
Other duties may be assigned. Qualifications:
Display a willingness, aptitude and self-discipline to study the required material and meet all prerequisites to obtain water or wastewater certification.
Knowledge of process control techniques, maintenance procedures and safe practices. The ability to successfully perform routine on-site maintenance and emergency repairs of treatment equipment is essential.
Willing to work all shifts including: weekends, holidays, evenings, and 24-hour emergency on call.
High school diploma or equivalent and 2-4 year related experiences or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Valid driver's license required. * Must be able to frequently lift 50 pounds. * Must be able to load, unload, and move large equipment and tools. * Continuous walking, stair climbing, and lifting. * Must be able to access confined spaces.
