Job Description Reports To: Manager Corporate Supply Chain
Position Summary: The Senior Specialist Strategic Sourcing manages and oversees projects of short and long term duration in the relating to strategic sourcing, ongoing supplier maintenance programs, and overall process improvements. Makes recommendations to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency of operations. Interacts with internal customers and upper management to ensure that all requirements are being met. Applies extensive knowledge in the field of supply chain management concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience, ingenuity, creativity, and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs this function without appreciable direction and is given considerable latitude in leading projects and assigning staff.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities: · Lead the company’s strategic sourcing program on all direct and indirect spend categories. · Develop and administer a cross functional alliance management program that focuses on continuous improvement, supplier benchmarking, and driving out waste and cost. · Monitor the enterprise purchasing activity to ensure that materials, services are purchased from suppliers developed through the strategic sourcing process. · Help develop purchasing work processes that utilize the company ERP system as a sourcing compliance tool. · Lead assigned projects to successful conclusion or implementation. · Utilize experience, ingenuity, creativity, and judgment to drive down total cost within the company.
Skills/Requirements Required Skills or Tools: · Strong analytical skills. · Excellent Communication skills. · Ability to influence without direct authority. · Strong MS Office skills with Excel, Power Point, and Word. · Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where limited standardization exists. · Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, diagram, verbal. Or scheduled form. · Strong verbal, interpersonal and organizational skills. · Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines
Preferred Education/Experience: · Minimum requirement is for an undergraduate degree in a business related field. · 10+ years management experience in a supply chain management or closely associated role.
